Can ennyone tell me at what serinumber mv started to produce the 137hp engine. Some tell me there has to be 2v in the serial number others tell me they used the engine before. I hope someone can help me out!

You Better ask for the engine serials as they have 1v (2001) produced bikes with 2002 specs! Like mine is a Yv (2000) with 2001 spec engine.

I am quite curious about this myself. Is there some way to check about the new motor? My serial number does have a 2V in it. I purchased a 2002 model and thought that I had the new motor in it, however, I read in one of the previous threads that if you have the new version of the motor, there is an EV 02 sticker right below the F4 sticker on the tail section of the motorcycle. Mine does not have this sticker and the previous thread stated that not all of the 2002 models came with the new motor. I did meet a fellow at Daytona in October however who did have the EVO 02 sticker on the tail of his motorcyle.

Keep in mind the "EV 02" sticker was an afterthought by MV and a lot of 2002 models shipped without the stickers. The dealers were sent stickers to fit on but I'm sure a lot probably never got them.

Matt, do you know if that means that all of the 2002 models in fact did come with the updated motor and is there a place possibly on the web to verify?
