snow, and coal

greenspun.com : LUSENET : CountrySide Family : One Thread

woke up this morning,, started to unload a truck load of manure that I picked up last night. Came inside,, ate some breakfast, (eggs toast and sausage), and doing so,,,, had to use a "restroom",, come to find out,, the fill valve wasnt working,,,,, ! ! ! no toilet!!!, being a man,,, no problem,, have a bucket ready and some sawdust, noproblem,, BUT,, Im having some company this weekend,, and not haveing a toilet wont go over too well. Went to the hardware store,, picked up what I needed, , and saw a sign there,, "WE HAVE COAL",, interesting,, so I picked some up, 8 dollars a hundred pound,, I bought 50 pounds,, figure Ill use it as , "overnighters",, testing them now,, burns well, nice and hot,, though I know not to load the whole thing up with coal, woodburners arent made for that kind of heat, but I dont see why using them as overnighters wont work. They do smoke more, and the ashes will have sulfer in them, though plants need that also.

I fixed the toilet,, ( YAAAAAAAAA ) only used half the parts, and it still requires some fine tuneing, but will work fine., and I got all the manure nloaded and hauled to the garden, chickens are scratching it up as we speak. SO, of couse,, it has to start to snow now,,, and it is,, looks like might even get an inch or so.

I wish we would get a cold snap. I am SOOO tired of mud! I The rain came too late to help the garden, now it is just making fall chores difficult!!! I actually want SNOW!

right before the cold weather hit,, I needed another day or 2 of 70's,, didnt get it of course,,,, so IM hopeing that one beeyard that I didnt get too will be fine,, I wrapped themm,, but didint get a chance to rotate bodies or medicate. SO, now,, IM just at the border of snow and rain,,, started snowing, turned to rain,, and calling for 50's for highs during the weekend. Goning to mess things up for hunting season when that gets here, if we dont get some snow. I go in for sugery on the 25th, so I will only have one weekend to hunt,, if I dont get my deer within the first week,, ,,,,,,,,,, IM out of luck

I agree with Terri...I want it to be COLD and SNOWY!! I'm really tired of this mud! I can do barn chores in my sneakers when it's 20 degrees or less and the ground is frozen. With mud and warmer temps. I have to hassle with putting on my boots!!
