Concrete Floor Sweat

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Style Homesteading : One Thread

I have seen an explanation for concrete floor sweat related to the ambient air condensing over cool concrete. My question is whether moisture in warm concrete will condense and collect on top when cooler air moves in to cool the concrete? It seems that this time of year when cold fronts in the south can drop outside temperatures 40 degrees, our floors begin to puddle.

I never had that happen in the fall. It is always in the spring. The concrete is cold and the air is warm and moist. Voila, water on the concrete. This is the same as water condensing on the outside of a glass with cold liquid in it.

Warm concrete should not sweat when cold air is passed over it. Perhaps your problem is related to somethig else.
