women and psychology

Where can I find legit information about women and psychology in the late 1800's. I'm doing a group presentation in English class about Charlotte Perkins Gilman's "The Yellow Wallpaper." My sub topic is women and psychology. I have been very unsuccessful in finding any useful information.

You can check the posting at http://hv.greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a- fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id=00AATs for books about famous women in psychology and their stories. You might also check the literature for psychology and gender, psychology of women, and related topics. There is a fairly decent bibliography on women's issues in the nineteenth century in my book chapter Vande Kemp, H., & Anderson, T. L. (1999). Humanistic psychology and feminist psychology. In D. Moss (Ed.), Humanistic and transpersonal psychology: Historical and biographical sourcebook (pp. 125-144). New York: Greenwood.
