Click here for all your emulator needs

Kefka's Rom site, over 500 NES roms, covers many of the older roms.

Alex's site, the best one for RPG Roms for SNES and NES.

Enjoy, and share the wealth!

EMULATOR TUTORIAL!!

w00t!!

Alright, here's what we're gonna do today...

1. Download a NES emulator (Jnes)

2. Download Final Fantasy 1 (From Alex's Rom site)

Ok, here we go..

2. Getting your Emulator

First, we'll go Here to get out Jnes Emulator. Along the left side, there are links to a whole bunch of different consoles. Click "Nintendo Nes".

Now, you should be at a page that gives you links to various NES emulators. Click the "Jnes" link to get a brief discription of it, then at the bottom of that page is a link to the .exe file for Jnes 0.50 beta version 2. Click it, and it will automatically download. If you're too lazy to do all that, then just Click here. If you just clicked there, you'll have to live forever with the fact that you're a lazy bastard who can't follow simple directions, but I won't hold that against you ^_^

Now, i'd suggest making a new folder on your descktop called "Nes Emulator and roms" or something like that, and keep all your Emulators and Roms in there for easy access. That's what i have, But enough about me, let's move on to the next step.

2. Getting your FF1 Rom

Alright, you got your emulator. Now, you need a rom to run for it. Let's go get a FF1 rom! (insert various witty comment here)

To start off, go to here. This will take you to Alex's Rom site. Now, wht you must do here is click the "Roms" icon at the left side of the screen, and then 5 choices will appear for type of ROMs. CLick "Nintendo English". Now, you see a whole bunch of games here....they're in alphabetical order. But, we're looking for FF1 right now, so click the "D-G" link in the upper right (because FINAL fantasy is between D and G..right?...or else i forgot how to spell, which I doubt.) Anyway, click the link that says "Final Fantasy" on that page, and it will start downloading the Zip file for FF1. I'd advise you to download it to that folder I was talking about before, for your ROMs and Emulators. Or, you could just click Here To get it, but then again, lazy bastard, yadda yadda, same stuff I said before.

Now, for the Fun part!

Unzip your FF1 file into your folder..and open up your Emulator by double clicking the Blue "JNES" text (after you've installed it, of course..) Now, when you're in JNES, which should be a Black screen, go to "File", and from there, "Open". Now, select the .nes file you got from FF1 when you unzipped it, and the game will start!

Have fun!
