Can it be proved that Poe was crazy thourh his works??

Does anyone have any supporting evidence that Poe was thought to be crazy though his works??

No I don't think so, just like looking at a photo of a madman isn't going to tell you he's mad. Poe had an exceptional mind but I don't think it was brought about by his late insanity.

Almost absolutely not since his study of "madness" is thoroughly critical and observant. The madmen betray themelves to the reader. No real affirmation is made of madness over sanity or logic, just an interest in the extreme states and the emotions they can explore. Read other trashy Gothic tales of the time and you may well wonder since those writers have no such critical skill but try for pure sensationalism with absurd hyperbole.
