"Evaluate the use of questionnaires in research". Seems straightforward enough, but can you recommend any good references to narrow it down? (was thinking of maybe using the Potter & Wetherell attitude critique stuff). The focus is supposed to be applied.

You should have a look at Tim Rogers' textbook on testing. It include a great deal of critical material on the assumptions underlying the psychometric approach.
