Part for Remington 514

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Freedom! self reliance : One Thread

I have a Remington 514 Routledge Bore rifle/shotgun (it only shoots the 22LR shot cartridge). The bolt assembly is in bad shape and needs to be replaced. This weapon has no serial number so it is not possible to date it.I have been unsuccessful in finding a replacement bolt assembly anywhere. Can someone out in this wide old country of ours point me in the right direction? Thanks for any info. Charles Taylor

Charles if you can find the part . It may be possible to have one made at a machine shop.

Having one made would be just too expensive. If I could find an old Model 514 with the bolt in decent condition I would be glad to buy it. The bolts are interchangeable.

try numrich's e-gun parts. they have 514 bolts.

Yeah. I bought one. Arrived last Friday. Will only close if the trigger is pulled to the rear while inserting the bolt-otherwise stands about 3/8th inch from closing. It is a cock on closing bolt but sure looks different than the one I remember from years ago. Can push the spring and rod to rear using a screwdriver. Any help or ideads ? Thanks.clo

Hope you've found a solution to the problems with your .22 smoothbore, but if not, would you be interested in selling it?

I have owned 2 of these Routledge bore 514s. Can you share any information about them. Remington was not helpful. I have never had a problem changing 514 bolts from one to another.

I currently have two 514's. Numerich has been helpful with some parts. But not too much concerning bolt parts. You may try Bob's gun parts out of Arkansas. I do not have the email address handy at this time. Can get it to you in a day or two. John Robb
