i would be interested to hear comments relating to this photo i like it a lot, but i dont know whether it is technically a "good" photo or not. Nothing has been done to the colours - they really were that bright.
thanks for answering

Flowers and foliage seem pretty dark on my monitor, while sky looks a bit washed out. Check your levels.

i have printed the picture with perfect resultsthe foliage and flowers are very dark, part of the character of the tree, and the sky is a vivid blue from printing
perhaps your monitor settings are different to mine?

Could well be. Can you see all 26 squares below?

um i can see all the colours as separate until x y z: those 3 appear to be merged, especially y and zhow do i adjust the monitor to compensate for this? it is already nearly as bright as it can go

Looks like it might be oversharpened... (just testing a change to my bboard insert software)

There is a problem with the light in this shot. You have too much contrast in the photo, as the lovely flowers are really what your taking a photo of you really have too much sky. the real reason this is a proplem is because the sky is so bright and the flowers aren't, although they are vivid. look at the shadows and you'll see what i mean. it's near impossible to balance a photo like this with such extreme ends of light. you need more light on the subject less background.
