Please pray

Daniel is eleven days shy of the US Navy sending him to Rota, Spain. He is doing his best to try to end our relationship. After such a wonderful Christmas, we spent New Year's apart. Please pray for us.

I'm happy to pray for you, Melissa, but I'm unclear on your wishes. Do you mean that you don't want him to break up with you, but instead to come home to you some day?
Perhaps he feels the same way you do, but fears that he may be killed overseas, so would rather not have you face that potential trauma?

Daniel is in no harm from his tour in Spain. He will be the planning officer for updating the Naval base in regards to facilities and foundations. He isn't facing combat.

I just behaved poorly, and hurt him deeply. He feels that the damage which has ensued cannot be healed before he leaves for Spain. Instead of trying to fix the problem, he thinks we should abandon the whole romance. He is still in love with me, and he does not want the relationship to end, but feels like he is left with no other option but to end it.

He speaks in circles, and I see small inklings of hope. But, the complicating factor is his deployment to Spain.

Dear Melissa,

Pray to St. Anthony - he is the saint for lovers!

Also pray to St. Francis of Assisi and ask him to bring peace to both of you.

Of course, Jesus knows what is best for both of you. He knows what is in your hearts, your minds and your souls. Ask Jesus to be the bridge between the both of you and if it be God's will to bring you both back together where you belong.

I will pray for you Melissa.

Love, MaryLu
