Prayer Request

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

Please say a quick prayer for my brother. I have just minutes ago found out that he is having gall bladder surgery tomorrow. While I know this has become rather routine, it is also very sudden (they just found out today) and him and his family live in Germany. So, as I have not seen him in 3 years, and do not even get to speak to him often, please say a prayer that all goes well for him. He does, after all, have two children and a wife to support.

Thank you all.

I will pray that your brother's surgery goes well.

Dear Isabel,

Your brother will be in my prayers. Gallbladder surgery is very common today, but there is always room for concern when one is having surgery.

Whenever, someone I know is having surgery, I ask that Our Lord Jesus be the 'surgeon' and the doctors act as His instrument. I always feel more secure then and it lessens my worry, knowing that Jesus is actually performing the surgery.

God Bless

God bless your brother Isabel. I will keep him in my prayers.

Yes, Isabel, of course. May the Lord direct the doctors and staff with His infinite wisdom and guidance.

Amen,

Gail

Isabel,

Of course you can count on our prayers, too.

Sure, happy to!

I wouldn't fret too much though, Germany has good medical care and cholecystectomies are done every day. Not that there can't be problems, but probably all will be fine.

Thank you all very much for your prayers. I am so very grateful to you. I just received a call from my mother that all went very well, and he came through with flying colors. I know this surgery is very routine now, but like MaryLu said, there is always concern when one is having surgery. Anesthesia (sp?) can sometimes have wierd effects on people.

I ask that Our Lord Jesus be the 'surgeon' and the doctors act as His instrument.

Great way to look at it MaryLu.

'cholecystectomies'

Frank, is that the proper name for gall bladder surgery? Geez, that's a big word. I think I'll just stick with 'gall bladder surgery', if you don't mind. :) Best if you keep it in lay man's terms for me. :)

Thanks again, all!

I was happy to read everything went well Miss Isabel. I knew it would when I saw that a holy Lady like Marylu was praying for him. ;-)

Isabel,

Yeah, it is. The funny part is, in Greek it means what it says!

Chole cyst ec tomy

bile sack out cut

or surgical removal of the gall bladder. Pretty cool, huh?! :-)

Oh, GROSS! LOL! Now I know I will definitely stick with 'gall bladder surgery'! LOL! :) Thanks for teaching me something new, though.
