Any ideas on how to visit our A.M.E Churches in Africa? Inexpensively

greenspun.com : LUSENET : A.M.E. Today Discussion : One Thread

When God called me to be A.M.E he instantly gave me a wonderful family. The only family I had was my daughter. But through this denomination I have relatives around the world. I want to see my Namibia family Rev. Biwa and Rev. Hanse at Purity A.M.E Church. Both pastors have prayed for me and my church for a while. I want to see my beautiful sister Rev. Higgins in Capetown who gives me strength when I get weary and reminds me to press on. I want to see Rev. Mwandu whom I have adopted as my son in Zambia. Does anyone have any ideas for getting to my relatives in Africa. Also I need several prayer warriors to pray with daily so that we in America can help our churches in the Motherland. This is something that is really on my heart. Our AME churches in Africa have so little compared to what we have I am praying that there will be a grassroot movement through laity and WMS to help our churches. One last thing for many of our ame family that post on this discussion board it is very expensive to use the internet and or they have to travel to get to a computer. Yet they still post. Let's lift them up in prayer.

In the above post I said it is very expensive for our ame family to post on this board. I was referring to our African ame family. For they often times are charged by the minute to use the internet. So to have their post is truly a blessing that they give to us. Not to mention that often they have to travel from their church to post. I hope we will cherish every post from Africa for it is a give of love from them to us.

Mother Denise, i am your son Rev Royd Mwandu pastor of St Thomas AME Church here in the city of Chingola, Zambia Africa, praying for a mighty move of God for you to visit us in the motherland in the near future.Yes, the taste of the pudding is in the eating and so your coming will be one way of having a hands on feel of the situation under which we labour. This will maximise the connectivity of the AME Church.God bless and keep you.

I have to explain to the board I asked Rev. Mwandu and his beautiful wife Connie if I could be their American Mother and they said yes!! And I am the same age as Rev. Mwandu's biological mother. So I praise God for the blessings that God continues to give me through this board. As I pray about our churches in Africa the holy spirit is telling me that we should organize a trip of american clergy and other interested parties to visit our A.M.E churches in Africa. Please join me in prayer regarding this matter.

I will definitely pray about a possible trip in prayer as well as advancements of the gospel in Namibia, South Africa, Zambia and elsewhere. Be blessed!

Sorry -- the sentence didn't make grammatical sense -- here is a correction:

Reverend Rogers and Mwandu, I will definitely pray about a possible trip as well as for the churches that are spreading the gospel in Namibia, South Africa, Zambia and elsewhere.

Praise the Lord Chnatel and all AME's at global level. We have started upholding your name to God in prayer for your coming to our motherland. We have been asking God to raise people with a real burden to serve in Africa even if it meant for a day ( 24 hours ). Now God has answered our prayers. We are so grateful that we have in the past year 2002 expeienced the coming of brethren to visit with us with a real missionary spirit. One such is the couple of Pastor Ron and his wife Bridget who came to Zambia from Philadelphia with a hunger relief assignment which they conducted successfully. Most AME's who come to Africa only end up in South Africa. They always think that Africa is South Africa and vice versa. The AME strecthes way beyond South Africa and it is actually these areas that are in nee of Christaian people with a missionary spirit.Chantel, you are welcome to Zambia.
