Handed my keys in during "a moment of madness" in 1995 to Bristol and West. They sent me a letter in 1999 asking for £42000. They settled for £1000.

I've now just got back on the property ladder and have successfully applied for a mortgage with no problems. And no, I didn't tick the "have you ever had a property repossessed" box.

There is hope!!
