Update on Debutante-Masters Commission

greenspun.com : LUSENET : A.M.E. Today Discussion : One Thread

I have been appointed as the DMC commissioner for the fifth district by Administrative Director and connectional officer Sis. Loretta Hill. (Bishop Bryant has approved it) I am so thrilled for this is a wonderful program for youth and young adults and it will idemonstrate to our young people we care about them and that they are valuable members of our church. Other denominations such as the Lutherans and Catholics have similar programs. Rev. Mwandu in Zambia will be starting a DMC in his area and will be presenting the information about the DMC to 500 youth at a youth conference. Praise Rev. Mwandu for doing this. This is truly an exciting development. The DMC provides skills and biblical knowledge that will last their entire life. I ask that you see the DMC web page

For those in the fifth district contact me if you have a DMC or want to start one. We are going to have fun! We need volunteers for the DMC in ALL districts. This is a great way to do something for our church by working with our youth. Please contact me for more info if you are in the fifth district. Isn't God great!!!!

Mother Denise, congratulations for your recent appointment as the DMC commissioner for the fifth district by Administrative Director and connectional officer Sis. Loretta Hill. I am so grateful that our Episcopal father Bishop Bryant has approved your appointment.

Yes here in the city of Chingola Africa, i am going ahead with a scheduled conference for the youth under the banner " Youth Get on your mark".Note that this is a St Thomas AME local church programe in which the youth from the South West Zambia Conference will participate. This will eventually lead me to the forma the DMC in the which is non existant in the 17th.I am right now mobilising a strong team of +500 youth to attend this conference.

I have linked up with Administrative Director and connectional officer Sis. Loretta Hill and am still waiting for her feedback.I will need literature material about DMC before the conference date in June 21-22,2003.

I have also visited your wonderful website ---- www.ourchurch.com/member/d/dmc. God bless you mother Denise for making yourself available to organise the 5th District.

My son I was jumping up and down with joy when Sis. Loretta Hill shared the good news with me about the possibility of a DMC in Zambia. Actually I know it will be a reality. Like you I have a passion for youth and young adults. I am also a social worker with specialized training in working with "youth at risk" and their families. This is something that is important to me because I was a high school drop who was very angry. It was the intervention of the united methodist church youth fellowship that turned my life around. I was not even a member yet the pastor and the youth group came to my home to get me. I know the importance of a program such as the DMC for I know God wants us to reach out to our children and raise them in his ways. We are so fortunate to have a program such as this in our denomination. One last thing I am blessed for I have greatest episcopal leaders in the world! Bishop Bryant and Rev. Cee, they know I love rural ministry and that is my calling and they are so supportive and encouraging. I have never had a Bishop like Bishop Bryant and I have had many Bishops. Congrats on your work my son.
