Praise the Lord Saints:

My name is Cory L. Holland. I am a 19 yr. old college student from the 4th district, Indianapols Area, Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church. I am an active member of the YPD and former Indianapolis Area president. As I believe everyone here knows of YPD and its contiguous events such as conferences, fundraisers, etc. As we all know, Quadrennial is comming up, which is very expensive. I am trying to come up with ways to raise money so that we can send some of our members to the Quadrennial. Currently, we are holding Youth Nights once every two months to raise money, but in doing that we are paying groups to come perform so we are at a stand still sort of. If anyone or everyone has any ideas on how to raise money, PLEASE PLEASE let me know. My own personal email address is c.holland@rxpost.com, but my ame-today email address is onelove@ame-today.com. PLEASE help me. I give my most sincere gratitude in advance

Cory,

I know a lot of fundraisers. It depends on the number of people that you have working with you...

The first Idea that I have is to sponsor a free car wash! I know it sounds crazy but it works. Before the carwash, you get people to sponsor your carwash. It's more like a carwash-a-thon! Example: You goto your parents and tell them, you are having a carwash on a certain day and you would like for them to donate so much money per car. They may tell you they will donate $1.00 per car that you wash. Write their donation amount which $1.00 on your paper. When you have your car wash, you may wash 50 cars. Your parents owe you $50.00. If you need further help, write to me and I will call you. My prayers are with you...

Cory, Our YPD raises funds by having a youth carnival on the church grounds. They rent a sno-cone machine, popcorn machine, make nachos, hot dogs and hamburgers. Determine the price of your tickets and the number of tickets that will be required for games such as: bean bag toss, darts, cake walk etc. Tickets are used to purchase food items and play games. Stuffed animals are donated by the lay for prizes. Twinkies and cupcakes are used for the cake walk.
