There are many accounts that she was a lover of Alexander's and was "sold" to Ptolemy (because he fell in love with her) and Aelxander wasn't "in-love" with her, although he trusted her like a friend. Historians don't talk much about her, pretty insignificant in the big "Alexander" picture I guess. Have you read the opera called "Thais"? It's based on the same woman after being sent to Egypt. It's a beautiful story. I do wish there was more out there on "our" name sake. But I haven't found anything further. It is nice though, to find a fellow Thais!

I read that Thais was Ptolemy's lover and only friend of Alexander...thoughts/speculation? But she sure was good at getting a party going! Just look at that temple of Persepolis... Man, that was a kickin' party!

There is an ancient legend that they were in love for a short time but not from reliable sources.
