A heart for those who have left

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

Brothers and sisters. Something occurred to me and I am troubled by it. As we already know, a good number of decent people have left this forum : Tim the baptist, Eugene, Chris Butler and more.

They have left, and when they left we asked them to come back. Brothers and sisters, they have not. I believe that this matter needs our corporate prayer. The Lord Jesus is the good Shepherd who searches for the 1 who has gone away until it is found.

I know this analogy is not 100% applicable to this situation since they have not departed from their faith. However, I do think that the forum benefits from them, and I believe that our corporate prayer will testify of our love for these brothers and sisters and show them that their function in this forum does well to serve the body of Christ.

Dear Lord Jesus we love you. We love your church and all the brothers and sisters. Lord we ask you in these darkened times to shine your marvelous light upon us. We seek the return of Tim, Eugene, Chris, Jake and all the other precious members of your body who have departed from this forum. Lord they are fellow ministers and stewards of your word and their service is a great testimony of your body. Lord Jesus seek them as the seeking spirit, the good shepherd. We also ask Lord that you silence the spirits of anger and destruction. May they have no place in this forum. Lord spread your kingdom through this forum. Establish your divine authority through the words spoken here.

Amen.

Just wanted to let y'all know that Anna, Jake, myself and others formerly at this board have become more active at the Phatmass board - http://www.phatmass.com/phorum/default.asp?CAT_ID=2 - very well run and a lot of fun.

Oliver, there's a Baptist guy there named Brother Adam that I *know* you'd enjoy talking with! Please consider joining us over there! :-)

what was that about Lent and giving up the site?!?!

Whether or not this site has some future depends on the available material for it. As far as I know we all can produce a lot of thoughts diverging on this and that topic and this creates the space for anyone other to join this group. The forum is such a strange fact in the lives of many of us that it would be of great help to all to know it and receive more from it. No, I have no doubts in my mind that then we could expand to reach even more! Let's hope!

My having been involved in this forum for a short number of years now and returning for long periods of time tells me - the forum will survive. -

Perhaps the forum is going through a developmental stage for prior it was far to intellectual stiff necked and boring. People have emotions/views which have to be expressed. Otherwise it is not a forum.

Sadly in the past gentleness has been pummeled into the dust. Let us see what the future holds for us here.

Eugene is only willing to return if an apology is extended from the Moderator.

If a simple gesture of humility is all that is required to bring back a beloved member of this forum, I hope it will be done (for him and any others).

Remember Jesus said that a good shepherd would leave 99 of his sheep to find the one and bring it back.

Please, Moderator?

Everyone misses Eugene and the others, but it is up to you.

I'm sorry to offend some that my responses are lacking in intellectual excellence. God often used lowly and uneducated servants (such as the childen of Fatima, St. Bernadette, etc.) to get His message across. I won't deny that I am just a simpleton, nor claim to be a special messenger of God(!) But would ask your patience with me, as last time I checked my Catechism, it said that God made "me," too. So, He must've done that for some reason... :)

Pax Christi.

Anna, that was sweet of you to e-mail Gino.(if you did)

Gino, I don't think the Moderator will apologise to you. Don't let his refusal to acknoledge his wrongs affect your decesion.

Its about Jesus, Gino. Its not about the Moderator. Everyone knows that you and others were done wrong, but it was a one time deal. I don't think this will happen to you again.

As you said to Glenn last year," what would of happened if our Lord would of failed to get up after he fell the first time?"

Bottom line Gene is you do good holy Catholic work, and you are very knowledgable in your faith. The forum needs you back in a bad way.

Offer up the wrong you feel you were done, to the Lord this Holy season. And get your but back here.

Ill qoate another regular,"You better get a backbone or I'll come give you one".[This was said to John when we were asking him to come back to forum last week]

I realy grew to like you Gene the past two years. It would put a smile on my face to see you back.[:-)

God bless you

I have been helped many times by posts from Anna, MaryLu, and Christina. Their words should not be called "rubbish."
These women are not abusive to anyone. They don't deserve to be insulted.
