Vivitar slide printer problem!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : polaroid transfers : One Thread

I so glad I found this place!

I have 2 Vivitar Instant Slide Printers. I've used both of them in the past but they have been unused for a few years until I recently got them out and both of them have the same problem.

With fresh batteries, I turn it on and the flash charges and the ready light comes on. When I press the shutter release( big blue) nothing happens. No flash, no click, not a thing. Both of them worked fine the last time I used them.

Any thoughts? Thanks jason

No need to bother with another bulb. This was just happening to me, as well. I finally got it to work. When the slide is in place, try moving it around a bit. This seemed to get mine working again. There must be soemthing inside that needs prompting.

Good luck!

Moving the slide around in the slot vigorously got me past you very same problem. Thanks to the guy who answered your question. I think he is right about a slide sensor to enable a firing. After a couple of work, no-work attempts, it felt like a spring kind of sensor is on the right side of the slide slot. I tapped the slide against it repeatedly, and never had a problem since. Thanks for everybody's questions and answers. Ahhh, the power of the internet....
