raves and ecstasy

greenspun.com : LUSENET : North Carolina Raves : One Thread

Hi. I am doing a paper for my Sociology class and my topic is the media's portrayal of the use of ecstasy at raves. As you probably know, the media makes it out to sound like raves are all about using ecstasy and the point of my paper is to prove that this is an exageration. If anyone has reactions to this please post them or you can email me at wouldyouliketobuyaturtle@yahoo.com Please write the word "raves" in the subject line so I do not delete it. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

I have something to say bout E. While overdosing on the club drugs such as PMA and Ecstacy, in many cases it raises your body temperature so high that the body convulses violently and cooks from the inside. If the body temperature is unable to be lowered, bleeding begins from all openings and death becomes imminent. Upon death, your bowels release their contents and your body instantly begins to consume itself. Not a glamorous way to die. Overdoses with club drugs are common because users never know the true dose, they rely on the criminal dealers to tell them. Thats wat i have 2 say. Keep the Rave alive by killin the bad Vibe!!DESTROY THE E!!! Peace love & Rave

hi, im not doing a paper on E's or anything like that i was just looking for some information about E's. now all i have to say about ecstasy is that i have tried it and i honestly think everybody should try it at least once in there life because you will never fell as happy as you do on a pill never, the first time i took it was the best night of my life, it changed me completely. i do it nearly every second weekend and im fine. my addvice to everyone is if you get a chance to try it DO IT.

I'm sure this response is untimely, but for those reading this page, here is some random mdma info.

According to a www.whitehousedrugpolicy.gov

"Research shows that MDMA causes damage to the parts of the brain that are critical to thought and memory."

However, the govt flagship study which was the basis of this info was retracted! due to BAD SCIENCE (likely published by politics).. (http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/full/301/5639/1479b)

Interesting enough, the US government still seems to use this study to this day. There was a good report by Peter Jennings on this topic (summary link http://www.markarkleiman.com/archives/drug_policy_/2004/04/peter_jennings_says_yes_to_mdma.php).

Try these sites for research...

www.ecstacy.org www.urban75.com for shits and giggles try the DEA at www.dea.gov

But f you want to see and hear the basic truth from an old school and I'm talking old school raver (back in the 80's before there were raves) track down a copy of the Peter Jennings Special Report on Ecstacy that was shown in spring 2004. Totally debunked the brain damage belief in ecstacy. The asshole the government funded didn't even use MDMA (Ecstacy) in his tests he used Meth. World of difference there people. The germans did the same tests and yes certain chemicals in the brain are off as much as 5% in Chronic users of E... but according to their current research this is not permanent and seems to heal back up within five months of not dropping. I haven't dropped in over three years. Alot of it is lack of atmosphere. Another part of it is I noticed quality of pills was steadily getting more and more dodgey. So whatever you decide be informed, be safe, and have fun after all it is your life and you have but one life to live.
