Question for an experienced Roastergreenspun.com : LUSENET : Coffee Related Buy/Sell/Trade : One Thread |
Hi,I am interested in learning more about coffee roasting and the related equipment. My focus is on commercial quantity roasting. If anyone could provide insight into the following questions I would be much appreciative.
What are the top brands of roasters?
Generally speaking, what would be the estimated New/Used price for a 10lb, 15lb, and 20lb roaster in good to above average condition?
What are the major feature considerations when choosing a roaster? (Afterburners, Temperature Sensors, Cooling Pans, Filters, Extractors, Drum Material etc...)
Any suggestions about grinders and bagging machines?
If anybody reading this is a roaster in the San Francisco area and would be willing to share your roasting expertise in person, I would jump at an offer. In advance, thank you for your insights.

Hi Although based in the UK, we roast our own coffee for domestic and commercial use. Visit our site as per the email address to see our 7 kilo roaster (Samiac). There is also information on coffee which may help you. If you have any further questions - send us an email. Regards John
