what you saw was most likely a yaoi dounjinshi. Incase this term confuses you i will explain

YAOI=Male Homosexuality, Usialy between 2 (or more in some cases ^_~) anime/maga bishonen, other terms for this are:shonen Ai and Slash Comic

Dounjinshi=Fan comic. Usialy sold for retail due to the fact that copyright laws are more lax in japan. and most anime artist usialy don`t sue becuase they themselfs started off as doujinshi artists.
