Tire dilema

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread

I am in a dilema with a new front tire. Pirelli no longer makes the dragon evos, and they just discontinued the stock 120/65 ZR17 diablos also. I just put a new dragon evo 1500 miles ago and I absolutely refuse to have mismatched tires or brands on my bike. Has anyone run the 120/60 ZR17 or 120/70 ZR17 sizes on their front? and if so what was the handling difference? I was told that the 120/70s dont fit properly due to the front fender clearence. Does anyone know where I can get a 120/65ZR17 dragon evo? any suggestions would be appreciated. I hate to go and buy two brand new tires but if I have to I will.

Yes, I just fitted Pirelli Diablo Corsas on my MV, front is 120/70 and it is fine but too new to know the effect of the /70 vis the /65, the tyres are brilliant, much more feel to the whole ride and grip is fnomenal. Some UK dealers may still have the 120/65 Dragon Evos but I guess that won't be of much help th you.(not if you spell it tires....lol)

Daniel, do you use a 180/55 tire on the rear wheel? If you do whats the advantage compare to a 190/50? Anyway thanks for helping me out, I'm gonna buy the Pirelli diablo's 120/70,and 180/55.I was not sure if the front tire hit the mudguard.

I am using Pirelli Supercorsa 120/70 front and 190 rear. There is no problem with the fender clearance, and I feel the bike better by far than with the EVO CORSA 120/65 that came with the bike.
