I use an FTP server. Since the program is free, and the space is only limited to my hard drive, I think this is a really good solution to your free server problem. Of course, for me, the problem is that I have one phone line and use a 56K modem, so it's kinda slow for people to upload or download from my server and I can't have it running 24/7. *But* I'm going to college next year, so I'll have a nice fast internet connection^_^ Also, I plan on having the server up a lot more during the summer.
