Yo, what OS are you using? Cause OS X have like a million ways you can view .avi , 3vix, .mp4, and .asf files.

Go to versiontracker.com and search for the following players:

Mplayer VLC

And go to divx.com and look for the Divx codec for Mac (you'll need this for Divx movies)

If you are using 9.2.2 or less, um...update! j/k It would be recommended, but if you can't, look for a program called AVI to MOV. It can convert the majority of .avi media into .mov format with some success...but you'd be a lot better off using the above listed programs.
