Samurai X is actually the part of the anime when Kenshin is the Battosai and the reason why he is no longer a man slayer. Rurouni Kenshin is the anime we can see on TV. You can buy Samurai X at any place that sells anime but has not been aired on TV (at least not yet)

Ya like he said...Samurai X is during the Mei Jei Revolution and when kenshin first began to become the manslayer. (Somer really awesome fights by the way) Ruroni Kenshin is the second part when he is the "Wanderer" and dont kill no more...

Yes samurai x an kenshin himora are the same guy samurai x is a different name to the story not when he was a man slayer You can rent samurai x the movie uncut on dvd at block buster and chose english or japanese with or without subtitles. I recommened it is so cool and decently violent and if you can find it on the web look for kenshins history it takes you from when he was a kid until he became a wander it is realy gorey. There is also a site "offical site" that sells every episode made on dvd English sub it is so worth it. I forgot the name but look around for stuff Like international anime or something like that you will find it they are 10 bucks a pop and there are for sale right now the first 100 or so episodes each dvd ranges from 100 min to 150 min def, Worth the price well i hope that this helps you

Ya what they said Basically it satarted as Samurai X the manga (i believe) They made the bad ass gore fileed movie Samurai X and then you got the cartoon anime thats made from the movie were Kenshin is no longer a butosi (hope i spelled right). You can buy both the movie and the season on dvd at your local anime place.

I wish they had shown the episodes where he was the baatosai. Seems like they're really good.

All Ya'll answers are da same... but can someone PLEASE tell me where i can go to download the eps of some really awesome fight seen?

Well stroling around the internet for pics of Samurai X to make into avatars(small little 64X64 pics) and I find this place so I'll contribute. I just recently got Samurai X and Rurouni Kenshin DVDs in the mail a couple of days ago, and to answer were you can stuff like this go on ebay. Ebay is full with small internet shops and if you type Samurai X or Rurouni Kenshin in the search, you should see full series DVDs pop up- and in english too. If you watch Samurai X then Rurouni Kenshin you'll find that Rurouni Kenshin is upsetting in the story line. Samurai X is a must see and you'll love it. About the pics, Kenshin looks different in both and so does many other characters. I prefer the Samurai X Kenshin then Rurouni. He's a lot more bad ass too. They are the same person, just different looking because they seem to be made at different times. I'm not sure, and arogent you mite say, but from the looks of it it seems Samurai X is made after Rurouni Kenshin. Or somewhat along those lines. Anyway, about a fight scene to download, I don't know anyone who copies fight scenes and puts then on a site, but you could find some at KaZaA. If you find some, I recomend seeing anything about the first five minutes of Samurai X. Theres a big, gorey, tragic scene and... well, don't what to give it away. Let's just say Sejiro Hiko is BAD ASS! Hope my info was usefull, especially were you can buy these DVDs. I highly recomend spending about... $100 on this stuff, if you really care about Rurouni Kenshin- Samurai X.

Samurai X and rurouni kenshin are the same, but you're wrong in thinking that samurai X is what he was, all it is, is ADV calls their releases Samurai X, and Anime works calls their release of the series, Rurouni Kenshin. if you want proof, look at "samurai X : the movie: it takes place in between the top two arcs of the series, yet, isnt titled, rurouni kenshin, and is released by ADV. all it is is marketing, nothing more. btw, check out http://www.nowherenow.org for plenty of anime downloads, we have the whole series, OVA's and movies for download on our file server :D peace out guys.

oh yeah, to clear up any confusion, this is how the releases go in chronological order "samurai X : trust", "samurai X : Betrayal", "rurouni Kenshin : the series" <---during the series insert "Samurai X : the movie", "samurai X : Reflections".

I think Samurai X takes place before Rurouni Kenshin, when Kenshin is actually Battousai the man slayer in the revolution. Hope that helped.

-- Anonymous, June 25, 2003

no, that is WRONG!! i just tried to tell you guys, SAMURAI X takes place before, in the middle, and after the series, IT IS KENSHIN JUST UNDER A DIFFERENT NAME!! ADV CALLS IT SAMURAI X!! ANIME WORKS CALLS IT RUROUNI KENSHIN!! i own all the dvds, i know, trust me, there is NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL!!

-- Anonymous, June 26, 2003

-- Anonymous, June 29, 2003

"Samurai X ",and "Rurouni Kenshin,"are the same character. It's just that when you watch the tv series, the characters[well from my perspective]have been made, for a younger audience, of children, perhaps, but when i saw both of the samurai x movies, i thought, no wonder they dont show this stuff on tv, it's far more mature, than what most people seem to think.

well, that's all,oh yeah,BIG fan of RK/SX

Samurai X (the first movie) is drawn exactly like the series, and has the same plot as rurouni kenshin. The other samurai x movies, ie. trust and betrayl. kenshin is drawn diffrent, and take place during the revolution. the last reflections, is the final streatch of kenshins life, and goes over the main events of the rurouni kenshin series, in the more detailed trust/betrayl animation. I hate to spoil it all, but heaps of people tend to think reflections is crap, its the best samurai x movie ive seen, and there will be no more likely, as kenshin dies at the end. Go watch them all... its good : D

ya im pretty sure that samuari x is the title of kenshin when he was the batosi. the x stand for the scare on his neck. rerorie or however its spelled stands for wonderer and kenshin was the name givin to him by his mastter

-- Anonymous, July 29, 2003

damn all you guys say the same thing shut the fuck up already.

-- Anonymous, July 31, 2003

Did you know kenshin has 3 names whatsoever

1.Hitokiri batosai - when hes a slayer 2. Rurouni Kenshin - the name he goes by and everyone thinks thats his name 3. Rurouni Shinta - His original name, his trainer changed it saying "shinta isn't a wariors name....but kenshin....is..."

i only herd one person that was close to the answer yes Samurai X is a movie but it is also a series that only shoes in South America that’s why allot of samurai X sites are in spanish.iv seen the samurai X series and they are exactly the same but the voices are different and there names are alit all different for instance Kinshins name is Kinshy Hamora instead of Rurouni Kenshin and Kirous name is Kory and Sanosuky is Sano or Sanosuky so his name is the same just sounds alit all different. Personally i like the Samurai X seiries better

-- Anonymous, August 08, 2003

I think the two are the same bcoz they are actually the same person, Rurouni Kenshin and Samurai X. But I think the differene is that Rurouni Kenshin is actually the good type which is the defender of the weak while Samurai X is the bad type
