Inuyasha Question... NOT about getting eps

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Animes : One Thread

Okay this isn't about getting eps, I'm doing fine on that and anybody who tries hard enough can do that.

I had a question for people who have seen the anime and know the plot. Right before the "break-up" episoid, Naraku and Kikyo have a conversation in which Kikyo tells Naraku that because he has Onigumo's soul/heart inside him, he can not hurt her.

Except... Naraku's the one who KILLED Kikyo and he had Onigumo in him then... so how does that work? And Musuo is even really upset about it that Kikyo was killed, he asks Naraku why he killed Kikyo, and Musuo is also upset that the first thing his new body did was kill her when he had given up his old body just so he could have her!

Random question inspiried by watching too many eps at once while under the influence of tiredness, after final happiness, and caffeine.

Thanks to anyone who can explain this to me!

Okay, I'll try to answer as best I can. I think what Kikyo meant when she was speaking to Naraku was that Onigumo loved her in his own perverted way and would not want anything to happen to her because he wanted her. However when he became Naraku, the evil demons that gave him power wanted to kill Kikyo because she was their enemy (since she was a priestess). The thought of the many demons overrode Onigumo's desires and attacked Kikyo which resulted in her death. It was not until later that Onigumo realized this and became upset about what had happened. Does that help? ^_^

Kiroshi,

Yeah, I remember that too now that you mention it. I think that was one of the explinations they gave very early in the series, and although it is part of the reason Naraku did what he did what I said earlier is too. The whole thing gets more complicated as the series goes on and you discover more and more about the origins of Naraku. Feel free to add to what I said though. I'm sure I've forgotten some of the finer details. Especially since I watched the majority of the series over a three day weekend. However, it didn't seem to drag out there in the middle because of that. ^_^

A tip to the wise: Be careful when purchasing huge numbers of episodes of a series you like all at once. You might find yourself sitting in front of the TV for a very long period of time. ^_^
