Our church is using acolytes. Can you tell me the duties that your acolytes particularly perform?

Acolytes are used to set the tone for worship prior to the beginning of the service. They processional in with the candles, flags, and the pulpit Bible. once they are in place the service begin. They should be clean cut well groomed youth girls and boys. they should have a director to train them and should not be used as ushers. i have several books on Acolytes. I'll be more tnah happy to send you one. The first Acolyte was Samuel in the Bible.
