Am I too old to have surgery on my sholdr

greenspun.com : LUSENET : About Joints : One Thread

New to this site but very glad I found it! I have type 1 acromion, a complete rotator cuff tear and possible labral tear. Did physical therapy and also had an injection, to no avail. Doc says I need surgery or I could just live with the pain. Don't know really what to do. Right now scheduled to have surgery on July 16th. Should I do it or not? Any feed back would be nice. I'm a medical asst and I need to use both shoulders. Does this sound stupie? I'm also 50 years old. Thanks for any help, Just me, Linda (Redbird_one@msn.com

Surgery sounds reasonable considering you have failed nonsurgical treatment. Just a choose a surgeon with experience.
