James Ossuary a Fake

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

It appears the sources I read were wrong. Thus I was wrong in stating that the ossuary was "all but authenticated".

Open mouth, insert foot!!!!

The James Ossuary has been declared a forgery by Israeli officials.

I apologize.

My point was that the gospel of Jesus, the message itself, continues to stand on it's own merit, without other traditional factors.

This I will continue to believe, as it is the core of Christianity.

I sure I will continue to make mistakes and hopefully learn from them.

I especially wish to apologize to John G. and Eugene, individually.

God Bless,

No need to apologize, John P.
I did not feel offended.
You are a man of integrity. Many would not have posted this new thread.

Dear JP,
You've earned the right to speak freely. Once in a while everybody gets a taste of humble pie.

Maybe that's a warning to us all. If we speak, it ought to be on the teaching of the Catholic Church, or from that perspective. Media articles, opinion, and think-pieces can become stumbling blocks. God bless you, Sir.

Yes, thank you! It is refreshing to say the least!
