Rurouni Kenshin and Samurai X are one and the same. I have the Director's cut of Trust and Betrayel, the Motion picture, and Reflection. RK is one the best anime's i've seen yet. As well as, Cowboy Bebop(movie came out yesterday) and Inuyasha!! I wonder if they will come out with a box set of RK with some new stuff or something? That would be great!!

some ppl don't have the privilege to go out and buy all 22 dvds plus the ovas and movies so they have to watch it on toonami no matter how much they edited out of it. sheesh!! u think ppl would just leave it go but noooo! they have to bitch and complain about how much they edited out of it even if they've already seen it! and anyway, i really prefer dubbed cuz subbed screws me up.

-- Anonymous, June 25, 2003

that's right. plus i don't want to spend the time downloading something that can take me forever.

Well you dont have to buy the DVDs all at once... I bought the first 5 DVDs at an anime convention (Anime North, in Toronto, ON). That was last years, i was going to buy the next few, but decided to buy the first 3 DVDs of Noir. And BTW, ebay is your friend, check it out.

Oh and Rurnouni Kenshin and Samurai X are one and the same, in a way. Different animators, but same character. Im not sure what order it went in, whether the series came out first, THEN the Samurai X OVA, or if the OVA came before. meh doesnt matter its all out now anyways lol.

6 OVAs. 4 come before the series and 2 after the series.

I LOVE KENSHIN!!! it's the best anime in the world, besides inuyasha. the episode with him fighting cho is my favorite one so far. what really sucks though is that for all of us who watch it on cartoon network, we won't be able to anymore cuz it looks like it's being taken off air :-( oh well. i'm going to buy the dvds anyway. does anyone know if the movie is worth buying? i'm sure the oavs are awesome cuz i saw a little. btw, Samurai X is the title of all the oavs before the tv series, which is Rurouni Kenshin, and it is when kenshin's young, while the tv series is when he's older.

bean machine I think JD was referring to the order they were produced. Not too sure tho oO

Samurai X is the name given to all RK stuff imported by ADV. Rurouni Kenshin is the name of the series that Media Blasters decided to stay with. The reason for the name change is that teh creator wanted forgein releases to be called Samurai X and ADV honored his wish, however Media Blasters decided to stick to the original title(and I agree with that decision)(<--sidenote)

ADV: Samurai X Trust+Betrayal(2discs)/Director's Cut(1 disc) Is the story of Kenshin's past. How he met Hiko and began learning Hiten Mitsurugi. To why he gave up killing.(I suggest Director's Cut to save $30)

Samurai X Motion Picture Just like most movies based off series, the movie has no real set time that it takes place in. I don't really know how to describe it w/o spoilign the whole thing so I won't try. I definitly suggest at least watching it ^__^

Samurai X Reflections/Seisouhen(or is it Seisouen? Oo) This ends the ENTIRE SERIES so I suggest watching this LAST. Just trust me on this o.o

AnimeWorks/Media Blasters: Rurouni Kenshin Well since u've been watching the show u know what this is about ~_^ However I suggest if u don't have a lot of money to stop buying the DVDs at volume 14 or 15(end of current arc on Toonami) because then it becomes nothing but pure fillers until it ends. If u want the boring story behind that just ask :)

So is cartoon network doing another one of there gay things where they dont show anymore episodes till one show gets to caught up, I.E. YuYU hakosho, or is it totally off the air forever??

-- Anonymous, July 15, 2003

I heard they moved it to Saturdays only. Not sure since I don't really watch it on TV.

-- Anonymous, July 15, 2003

i think its only on saturdays now. anyone know where i can find the director's cut to the seisouhen? ::must watch kenji::

-- Anonymous, July 30, 2003

also..reading the above responses..the original japanese episodes are so much better than the dubbed ones. anyways, kenshin's voice sounds all rough and husky in the american episodes. his japanese voice is so cute!
