The elegant SAL depot at Venice, Florida - built by the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers in 1927 - is currently being renovated. A good progress photo & story appears in the August issue of Trains Magaine, pg. 77. The BLE began creating a ready-made city at Venice during the 1920s FLorida land Boom.
