I am so excited to have my board up and running again. Things have been going well here. The barn is bursting. The garden is bursting too, mostly with weeds. The fruit trees are producing. How is everything going with everyone here(whoever IS here)?

Annie I hope Dave feels better soon. Keeping ahead of the picking is quite a job, but not quite as much of one as keeping ahead of the weeds. Especially when you go away for a week like I did. The weeds went from 31/2 inches high to 3 feet high!

Well, let's see...the peppers are in desperate need of picking along with the green beans and the tomatoes are barely starting to turn. Have gotten some cukes, but not enough to do anything with yet. Saw your post on the crock pickles. I used to have a recipe for what the locals here call "stick pickles". Same idea I believe. I'll see if I can find it for ya. Dave's been in the hospital but is getting out tomorrow, so hopefully I'll get the beans and peppers picked in the next day or so. They're not gonna wait long!

Everything is growing by leaps and bounds but I'm having more trouble leaping and bounding every year. :-)

We're getting broccoli, peas, greenbeans, onions, spinach and transparent apples. I'm not overly fond of transparents but they do make good applesauce. Had you ever noticed that they're the only apples that actually smell like the artificial "green apple" scent in soaps, shampoos and candles?

Love those new green beans. It's really summer when I can fix a supper of just new beans and fried apples. Oh, yummmm.
