I would like to hear from our clergy in Africa regarding Liberia

greenspun.com : LUSENET : A.M.E. Today Discussion : One Thread

It is hard to get accurate information in terms of what is happening in Liberia on U.S. news. My best source has been from the BBC which is giving extensive television coverage.

I need help in understanding what happened and is happening in Liberia, I think of the millions that were killed in Uganda under Amin, and the world and the U.S. did nothing and we had rivers of blood with millions killed.

I would love an African perspective in terms of what is happening in Liberia, also are there other countries that are having problems that we need to be aware of.

I also saw last night on the BBC (british television) that Somalia is in a terrible draught that is worst than the one in 1984. The pictures of the children dying were heartbreaking.

Please keep us informed my brothers and sisters, my dream for this board and the A.M.E.Herald is that our responses will motivate us to take action on behalf of our african sisters and brothers. Please excuse my ignorance for not knowing more. Our pastors in africa, go to great pains to learn about the U.S and I regret that I have not been as diligent. I look forward to hearing from you, and of course anyone can respond to this post.
