Gonna be scarce next week (probably)

I'm going on the 'Great American' vacation and doing a road trip next week so I won't be around. Going to do a loop around San Antonio, Austin area and come back down through Corpus Christi. Skip the big towns and only drive two lane blacktops through the little towns - that suits us fine. No real destination, no time table, just look around.

That is, if Hurricane Claudette doesn't wash me into the Gulf of Mexico early next week - if current course is held, my house is very near the current 'ground zero' for Monday - Tuesday. Has our plans all fouled up - even if just a glancing blow and turns north, people fleeing coastline will book up hotels all along the region.

So next week, I'll either be wringing out my socks, standing in waist deep water, family on a raft tied to a mesquite tree. Or driving across the lower / middle / and coastal regions of Texas.

Either way, I won't be here. Have a great next week folks.

Either way - you folks be careful out there JR! And have fun on your vacation, if the two aren't mutually incompatible!

I tried to get my husband to RV through Florida but he doesn't think that is a vacation. I figured it was a good way to see if we wanted to move there.

Are you a member of AAA? It is really a good thing to have. Out of gas, need a tow AND discounts in numberous hotels.

Have a great time. Hope you miss the rain. Nothing worse then a rainy vacation.

Bon Voyage!! Have fun!

Hey, I have a 12-year-old ewe named Claudette. She's pretty mellow. I'm hoping that means something (!)

Stay cool. Sounds like BLISTERING heat to me!!!

Well, its looking more and more like I'll be at ground zero starting late Sunday night, so vacation will be spent with family listening to the mayhem outside. Doggone it, I really needed a break from the routine - but not this way. :^(

Not too worried about wind damage - sounds to be a minimal hurricane, though that can change quickly. I do have some water concerns, so leaving on vacation while water is invading home - not an option. So I'll likely hang around and see the wind / rain do their thing.

One good thing - our resevoir is at 14% capacity - this should do some major help to filling up a little more.

Talk to ya next week.
