Smoke extraction for roasting : LUSENET : Coffee Related Buy/Sell/Trade : One Thread

I was wanting information on the methods of smoke extraction when using a 15 kilo roaster.Does it reqiure an after burn system or a simple chimney?What are the legal requirements?I am in London England.An info much appreciated.

Hello Craig,

I have a 25kg roaster here in Indonesia. I only use a chimney and a catcher (cyclone) system at the rear of the roaster. The cyclone basically is a chaff collector and does not reduce the output of smoke from the stack. I am sure that there would be environmental constraints in London, so I can not help you there. Seem to remember reading that the laws are fairly strict on discharge in the UK.
