I am shooting a narrative digital video short (23 minutes) and my DP can shoot in either DV or DVCam; I know DVCam is a higher quality format but I am told it will cost a lot of money to rent a deck or camera to input it into my Pentium 4 with Pinacle to edit. I plan to submit this to festivals. How different is the quality? Is DVCam that much better and preferred that I should spend a lot of extra money or should I just use DV?
