WinMX copying to Windows Media Player problems

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Animes : One Thread

Hello. I downloaded WINMX. I have been successful at downloading songs onto my harddrive. I have been told to rename the .mp3 files to .wav files. I open Windows Media Player and double click and check off the song to copy to CD. CD is in the right drive. When I hit "copy" button it doesn't copy! I cannot put any of the songs from my hard drive to CD!!! I don't know what is wrong. Can anyone help? (I have Windows ME and a burner) Thanks! Aracelymax@hotmail.com

Get some burner software. You can't copy to a cd, just cause you have a burner. Also, make sure you have drivers.

If you want to be able to just copy to cd, as if it's just a hard drive, get yourself Direct CD. It's made by adaptec and will cost you money.

1. u cant just rename the endings and expect it to work - cos they are encoded differently, so if u want to convert it u need software to do it for u. however in this case u dont need to as burners will automatically change the .mp3 to .wav when u make an audio cd.

id recommend nero software for making cd's. its easy - find it, install it and the wizard will giuide u through. and even if it doesnt, all u have to do is select make audio cd, then drag the tracks u wanna burn into the cd window and select burn. burning software also allows u to do other things such as crossfade and decrease/increase the volume of the tracks, the gap between each track and the amount of interference (great if the track is recorded via analogue e.g. mic)

hope this helps. email if ur having too much trouble
