No, they are different animes with different characters. They seem similiar maybe because they are produced by the same people. The soundtrack of both animes are sung by the same singer if I'm not mistaken which is Kotoko...

Yeah the main characters are different and the storyline is too. But the previous characters from the last series is in it also but some of them dont appear as much as others. Hope you enjoy the series, so far 2 episodes are out and i think it's really good.

Basically, They are 2 different animes in the same universe. Just think of it as Marvel comic characters.....different story (coz different characters) but in the same world (such that they occasionally cross/meet each other). Its interesting, I've just watch the first two episode ^_^

so its not like a "totally" different anime....heck the older characters even make some appearance (especially the teacher) and some conversation even make a sarcastic remark to the previous storyline and i think the class representative character in onegai twin is actually one of the significant character from the previous onegai sensei story. Do you have to watch Onegai Sensei to understand Onegai Twin? The answer is no, you don't have to.
