Kazaa in Danger?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Animes : One Thread

Hey I heard a rumor that kazaa users are in danger from the government or whoever for file sharing mp3s. And that they are going to charge the people with the most mp3s on their computer. I was just wondering if this is true also for anime videos on kazaa.... If anyone knows please post here. Thx!

*Points to eMule*

Guess as long as we use it and they don't catch on, we're safe.

most likely to be affected will be music files released in US. anime videos shouldn't be affected "yet" since they're mostly not commercialised items unless they're licensed.

kazaalite has a new IP blocker with abunch of blocked IPs like RIAA or anything accessing your files. Or you could not share

(gay connection made me have to post a million times, sorry guys.) its not the govt. its the RIAA. go to www.overclockers.com, they have quite a few links on the issues. http://www.overclockers.com/tips00411/ - what would you do pt 1. http://www.overclockers.com/articles774/ - what would you do pt 2. http://www.eff.org/IP/P2P/howto-notgetsued.php - how to not get sued. http://www.overclockers.com/articles767/ - stuff about what the RIAA and EFF are confused on. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news? tmpl=story&u=/nm/20030625/wr_nm/tech_music_dc_9 - some story on yahoo.com . oh and about the thing about the kazzaa lite and the other morpheus program having an ip blocker works the same way a popup ad blocker does or something like it, so no, it does not stop the RIAA from finding you, they have gone after people even though they had these programs.

The article title: Elderly Are Targets in Internet Subpoenas

RIAA has really lost the control. By sueing with IP address, they have no idea who they are suing. You can be sued if your roomate, grand daughter or anyone else have used you computer with a p2p client. Is RIAA gonna sue all users of Kazaa? We`ll see.
