David

What's up brother? The past week I was in the process of moving so I couldn't participate in this forum. You bring out many interesting topics and so far many things you say are pretty accurate. One time I have emailed you on a study " First Principles of Bible Study" I find it a real blessing and a powerful tool to read. Did you ever get a chance to read it? Here is the link again:

God Bless!

Hi Marsha,

I'm rather sure that you have accessed the wrong website. It looks like you are trying to hookup with an online Bible Study course. It would be a good idea to have your student number deleted from this forum. Moderators?

............

-- rod (elreyrod@yahoo.com), September 24, 2004.

Marsha I a deleting only your student number since this is not the place for your studies.

But we are a discussion group that also deals with scriptures. We belong to many religious groups so you can get answers to questions you have. I started a religious minor at the university. We have a Catholic deacon in Paul M. We have also Protestant pastors like pastor Fretz. Most people here are well versed in scripture. By having several opinions on some readings of Mark it could open up your horizon.

-- Assistant Moderator (egonval@yahoo.com), September 24, 2004.

Marsha--

Nothing can open your horizon more than God's truth--which is found in the Scriptures.

Stick with your Bible study--and forget this place.

You will only be led to the same confusion they all experience here.

Faith (One of only a few real biblical Christians here)

That is quite an endorsment on your part , Faith. Yet, you fail to realize that you are a regular poster here. Are your post that confusing and misinformed that lurkers and newbies should distance themselves from this forum? Faith does not have faith in her own faith? Hmmm.

Marsha meet Faith. Please don't allow one person to sour your visit here. Everything is discussed here regarding Christianity and its surrounding subjects. Just because it is on the screen doesn't mean you must accept it as the truth. But, I'm sure you already know that.

Please consider yourself welcomed and part of the forum. We'll be nice.

I post here to try and keep the innocent from being misguided by the false doctrines and teachings that are here. These things cannot hurt me because I am secure in Christ and His Word.

But I would never recommend this place for discovering or seeking God- -because too many lies abound.

I can't always be here to correct the problems and this is also why I asked David to take me off as moderator. I could not be associated with the false prophecy and false theology that David seemed not to care about.

Marsha wasn't looking to come here and she doesn't seem to be in question of the Scripture like the rest of you are. She is simply studying it--something you all should try some time. As it is--you all read everything but...

-- ("faith01@myway.com"), September 24, 2004.

Once again, your illogical thinking is showing, Faith. You post, Kevin posts, Elpidio posts, Andy posts, James posts, Vincent posts, they all post Scriptures. So, we do read Scriptures, Faith. We don't skip over the Scriptures that are posted here. Also, I read Scriptures, too. I do attend church services with my wife, who isn't Catholic. And, they do read Scriptures; I carry my Bible with me and open the pages and read. I also do my own follow ups on what the pastor was trying to teach. Sometimes, I find that he missed the points in his lectures. So, I read and study.

-- rod (elreyrod@yahoo.com), September 24, 2004.

Also, I do believe that we all care about those false doctrines and prophecies, as does David, too. It's just that each of us feels that the other guy's stuff is false, but not our own. I'm sure that you believe yours is true, but not mine. The world still continues to spin, doesn't it? So, what should we do? Holy Wars or continue to learn, seek, and understand?

........................

-- rod (elreyrod@yahoo.com), September 24, 2004.

Well then.,I suppose I am here for the wrong reasons. I am certainly not here to learn or seek what Elpidio is preaching. I also already know what the Catholic theology is. I am here only to point to Jesus-- and Jesus alone-- as the One True God. I can learn nothing from you guys--except that you are more lost or less lost--depending.

But there is always hope.

I know this sounds probably conceited or something. But I am secure in my faith and I do not doubt what God has revealed to me. I trust Him and His Word to us. I can't be swayed--

-- ("faith01@myway.com"), September 24, 2004.

No, the word your looking for is "arrogant". You believe that you are correct and that the rest of us are not. Evidently, you are here to correct and save the poor heathans. Evidently, we are who are lost cannot be swayed either. Evidently, your interpretations have failed to do the job.

Faith, we are all here to learn and to teach. We one believes to be something, one is nothing. I tend to believe that. This is what keeps us from being arrogant, at least we hope.

We all are, faith.

But some may argue from numbers:

Catholics : 1020 million, Orthodox 260 million, Pentecostals 500 million plus (into many Churches), Lutherans 70 million (many churches), Anglican/Episcopelian 70 plus million,...Souther baptists 16 million... Mormons 11 million, .....Reformed 16 million plus ,....Jehovah's witnesses 6 million....Universal Church of the Kingdom og God - 6 million,...Churches of Christ 1 million plus....The Way-The Church of Yahweh in Christ Jesus- 6 members.

Some may argue the keys of the kingdom

Syrian Orthodox 2 million

Orthodox-250 plus millions (Max...)

Roman Catholic- 1020 plus million (Rod, Emily, Jim, Vincent, Paul M,... and co.) Tradiotional catholics (less than a million) (Ian, Emerald, Jake and co.)

Anglican/Episcopelian (Gillian?)

Copts 8 million

Armenians 3 million

Ethiopians 30 plus million

Lutherans 70 plus million (Jeannie)

Reformed 16 millionplus (Pastor Fretz, ) ......

Pity the rest of us.....

Some argue from the Bible about preaching the true Gospel: Cambellites

Church of Christ

Christadelphians

Born again Protestants

Evangelicals

Jehovah's witnesses ....

Pity the rest ...

Some argue from Revelations:

Catholics (to justify dogmas)

Mormons (book of Mormon)

Pentecostals (they have the Spirit)

Oneness Pentecostals ....

Only one here argues from God Yahweh and his Son Jesus Christ alone. The Man of Yahweh.

The Way-The Church of Yahweh in Christ Jesus

The Christian Yahwist

PS: You think you haven't learned anything from me , faith, but you have. Now you know what is a Christian Yahwist.

-- Elpidio Gonzalez (egonval@yahoo.com), September 24, 2004.

Such confidence as this is ours through Christ before God. Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant--not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

I read your post, Faith. See? I do read Scriptures.

-- rod (elreyrod@yahoo.com), September 24, 2004.

Elpidio--you *think* that you are hearing directly from God and a separate jesus.

But I think you are being visited by spirits not of God.

You have no way to measure anything.

The only way to hear from God is to know Him through His Word. There is no further revelation needed on a *universal* level....the cross is it.

On a personal note--if God is speaking to you via visions or dreams-- you need to check it out according to His Word. Anything that contradicts His universal revelation cannot be from Him. Jesus is His Word and His revelation.

-- ("faith01@myway.com"), September 24, 2004.

Paul never talked to Jesus in person, faith.

Yet, you follow Paul!!!

He himself states that he coverted after falling from the horse. After being in the unconcious state he saw a light and a voice saying why you persecute me? Acts 9.

How did Paul know it was Jesus? He never heard the man's voice(Jesus) while he was alive !!! Good Question. Yet Paul always claimed apostleship!!! I Corinthians 9. I Corinthians 15.

If you believe Paul, then you must believe his dreams. But you don't believe in dreams, faith!!! How can you then believe Paul? Isn't that a contradiction on your part?

The Christian Yahwist

-- Elpidio Gonzalez (egonval@yahoo.com), September 24, 2004.

I don't think you can compare God's use of people and His causing visions and dreams during the time of the writing and compiling of His Word--to what you claim to be experiencing now.

God is finished now. There is no more need for further revelation. Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of the Old testament. It is finished Elpidio. Now Jesus sits at the right hand of the father--

-- ("faith01@myway.com"), September 24, 2004.

Faith,

So you don't think that after Jesus rose from the dead and sat at the right hand of Yahweh (again pointing to you Jesus is not God since he is at the right hand of Yahweh).

God is finished now. There is no more need for further revelation. Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of the Old testament. It is finished Elpidio. Now Jesus sits at the right hand of the father--

Why then, Jesus had to appear to Paul? This was years after the resurrection. There was no reason for Jesus to appear if he had already taught his disciples everything there is to know.

So if Jesus appeared to Paul in dreams/visions that means the work is not over, faith.

Remember that Paul is the champion of grace, so if you say that the job was dine at the resurrection of Jesus , then you must reject the Gospel of grace as preached by Paul.

The Christian Yahwist

Now you see I am not cut from the same cookie cutter as the rest of the people here, faith.

-- Elpidio Gonzalez (egonval@yahoo.com), September 25, 2004.

Revelation was completed in Christ....Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament. The job of completing His Word to us was completed in the New Testament. Obviously the gospel writers could not complete their task at the exact moment of Christ's resurrection. They needed time to compile everything.

Paul does not bring new revelation to the picture. He is a vessel used to explain it further and compile it in writing. He preaches grace as revealed in Jesus Christ. Paul expounds the gospels..

And even the Bereans searched the Scriptures everyday to be sure that what Paul wrote--was true. Paul was also a close friend of Luke.

Paul is a part of this New Testament Era..

The revelation is completed in writing--in the New Testament Scriptures....
