IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat. It's a protocol used for real time chatting... kinda old fashioned instant messenger. People with similar interests come there to talk about stuff and yes, sometimes exchange files (imho "abuse" would be a better word here). I don't know nothing about streamload except it's supposedly slow and not free. If you want me to explain IRCing I'll be glad to... just post a lil note over here and I'll mail you. ^_^

IRC stand for Internet Relay Chat. It's a chatting program and downloading one as well. You join different IRC servers and 'channels' to find the anime or manga you want and download off the people there. To go onto IRC a lot of people use mIRC since it makes things a lot of easier. mIRC that has a lot of IRC commands built into it so it makes it a lot easier to do things on it. However, mIRC is still pretty hard to use at first because you've got to learn the commands and stuff. It does get a lot easier to use after a while though, you can download it from http://www.mirc.com

Streamload is another service where you can have unlimited space for anime and a lot of other things too. People can send files to your account on in a few seconds and you can download them from there. It's a good service but it costs now unless you want to be a Freeloader on it which pretty much sucks since you only get to have a limited ammount of space and bandwidth. It's pretty annoying unless you want to pay. The site is at http://www.streamload.com

If you don't want to pay I'd try mIRC for scans and other anime or KaZaA Lite (http://www.kazaalite.tk) since both of these are free. You could also try WinMX which is another "P2P" (http://www.winmx.com), It's good as well.

They're all good but mIRC is harder to use. Hope this helps you a bit.
