Have you ever actually ridden a 749? You'd be fine with a 999, but the 749's are quite weak, even in comparison to the 748's. You'd likely not be satisfied. If it's the ergos that are bothering you it'll be better, but you'll miss the power and the refined power delivery lacking in the 749.
