a weirder anime than flcl is Abenobashi Mahou Shotengai. It's not a surprise since it's by gainax. it's a 13 episode series and it's been licensed by adv. too bad the animation is nowhere as good as flcl (i mean madhouse vs. production ig, i guess who'd win?)
