Aw man the music, the music, the music. The music is what makes saint seiya memorable. They seemed to want to make the series for the "alternative" kids. I can't believe I won't get to hear "Glide Pegasus", "Pegasus RyeSeiKen", and "Remember Sadness" again. . . I hope they fix this problem when they bring it out on DVD. Well, honestly, I have seen the every single epeisode of Sant Seiya in Japanese version, which left me a remarkable and memorable impression, that was the best story I have ever heard, the most beautiful charcters I had ever seen, the sadest music I had ever litsended,and the best I had ever known

I am now telling you people, after watching the first epeisode of Knights of zodiac, the first reaction to me was.....cant even find a word to describe. All I want to say is whatever is good about this show, they change it. Especially the music, the sequance of the stories, and mostly horrible---the dilouge---they make it only suitable for the kids who are under 6 years old, who are the only target market they had chosen

I swear one day if I have chance I am gonna kill this company who ruined my favorite show, seriously!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well... this cartoon had it all. Great mythology. Asian caracters. Gods, Warriors, Music, the thoughts of every word they said. Look at the dialog, and these people who changed the dialog would be the first people to say that kids nowadays can't speak english... what a joke, having a honorable warrior using that kind of language. Sorry people but I will stick with the Mexican vertion (spanish).

Hey guys! I havenīt seen the Cartoon Network Saint Seiyaīs version on USA, but i have seen on www.zodiacknights.com and some friends told me, that it was the worst wrong this channel could do. The true series are very beutiful and interesting. Guys, if you only have seen Zodiac Knights on USA version, donīt belive that Saint Seiya is a garbage. Please, search for the true version, thatīs on spanish and french, and maybe it would be on USA market soon as dvd version. The dialogs on japanese are true poems, and is false that Hyoga is a surfer guy, or that the lilac hair girl is "Princess Sienna". Her name is Saori Kido, and in the begginig is recognized as a normal rich girl.

Please guys, donīt belive in Cartoon Network version, and give a chance to Saint Seiya (real name of Zodiac Knights) to show you whatīs the best anime and manga in the world.

I saw the whole series in Spanish, saint seiya is the best anime there is. The music and the story everything.

The Englis version, sucks. No blood, no music, kids dialogue, they changed, that's no the real dialogue of the series.

But stills, I keep watching it, jejej

Oh and just to show you how bad the translation is... In the first episode, just after seiya puts on his armor and breaks that chick's mask off then walks away, that chick says something like "Next time we meet, I'll fight you with my cloth", in the spanish version seiya says something like "I hope that day never comes", in the english version, seiya says "sounds like fun".

I DISAGREE WITH ALL OF YOU! I don't understand how any of you think the original uncut english version has better music. I went out and bought the original version on DVD (vol 1) and was SOOOOO disappointed! The music was so ANNOYING! Instead of melodic, emotional music, the show is scored with this cheesy 80's trumpet disco MUSAK! Elevator music is better! The DIC version has WAY better music! Also the original voice of Seiya makes him sound like he's 40! Seiya is supposed to be a teen!

I like the DIC version and will get that on DVD when it comes out. I think the show is absolutely wonderful and hope that the cartoon network will continue to pick up future episodes of Knights of the Zodiac. I will pass on the original Saint Seiya.

And another thing... what is the big deal about the blue blood? Any idiot will get the point. It doesn't need to be red to understand what's going on. You guys are making a big deal out of nothing.

I saw this show in Central America on early 90's.I hate the version shown on U S . specially if you have to see blue or green blood instead of the real color ... that is like telling children that santa claus exist and then tell them the truth years later/ The knights of the Zodiac are humans and also have deep feelings for what they fight for... this is not like a superhero american cartoon where heros don't even fall in love for someone, I think we are in a different generation and this cartoon is also part of our patrimoni... I think the Original series are the best of everything... I also have a question? I got the ADV DVD episodes vol# 01 U. S. they have the original music and japanese dialogues w/ subtitles in english, the blood is red w/ uncut escines but I am still concerned that this is not the apropriate 100% what do you think? have you seen it? what do you think? this is not DIC version...for sure but still I am kind of longing for a resambled of the original version, I got some american friends and I pictured the coolest serie of all times and all the animes, and I just got a "Dragon naciente punch" back when I first so it on T V. my friends are thirsty to see the real show (the one I pictured ).. & by the way this is not a show for little kids... Woah. I have only seen like 3 episodes of the original Knights of Zodiac in Brasil where I'm from and the dialogue and stuff was WAY different than what I'm seeing on Cartoon Network. The couple of episodes I saw in the original has got me SO hooked that I'm still watching cartoon network with high hopes that they'll show something good. But really so far CN is crap. I wish the wouldn't have changed it so much.

Finally I get an opinion about the DVD version, I think the DIC version called "the knights of the zodiac" is crappy and the ADV version called "Saint Seiya" is not close enough, I think that U S will never get the full Idea of the real show with their NOT AT ALL 80`s melodies, but beautiful voice masterpeaces... I am not sure if I am going for the second Vol. or not.

I read again your message, ADV "saint seiya" version has the original music (is YOUR judgement that the music the author used for battleing scenes with trumpets is crappy for you) but that was the music, heared back on time in the original show & also that was the japanise stile in cartoons, like Mazinger Z,etc(like Japanese movies from that time had) for the sad scenes the author use the voice master peaces that make you cry... You probably should have gotten DIC version called "Knight of the zodiac" with some alternative rock for your newer taste/ with this I am not totally aproving ADV version either but.. you should inform yourself before buying because they where purpously named different so people could buy their taste and rated different too (ADV is for 15+) and DIC version is for KKIIDDIISS/ when I unggraped mine said ADV all over the cover

Well I havnt seen the ADV version yet but I am pretty sure that no matter what this version will be FAR~~~~~betther than the one they show it on CATOON NETWORK, as long as they keep the orginal music, they keep the orginal story well in order like it used to be, and moreover just dont change the dialog too far from it meant to be....

BY the way the voice work seemed to be a litt...le bit better, at least they did not drag their voices long enough to think it was the best way to keep kids consentration.....

However our new dubs were still finding the diffculty to understand those five knights' true personalities.They kept Hyoga saying DUDE to make him sounds more like AMERICAN than RUSSIAN or JAPANESE. Shiru's voice suppose to be calm, confident and thick but they made him sounds like a street urchin....the voice acting really turns him to a LONG-HAIR LOSER!!! Shun's voice, well what can I say, Andromada's voice suposed to be gentel and caring since his charcter is docile and he dosnt want to fight.....but you see our dubs acting make him sound like whatever....notice when Ikki's voice echoing around the Lion Rock when Shun was saying with joking tone: " Come on Ikki.....Letz not doing this..... (I was totally shocked, do they think the fate of fighting with his own brother is some kind of joke?????)

However they still keep showing those blueberry blood and hiding all the death content even when Hyoga turlly defeated the black Swan, replaced by saying:" oh I hate when they disapeard like that...." ......................................well whatz the value of it when you tried to hide all the death content from those kights who always willing to die for the fates they believe in....?

Oh I agree with you... I also checked the show at 12:30pm to see if the blood was still blue and once again got disapointed!!! also did not see the point of the time switching (well worked better for me that day because at 7:00pm was impossible for me to watch it.) but again disapointed... they really cut very important dialogues and scenes too...(ADV version includes them though, but translation does not have a heart to do a great job) There is one scene on the sanctuary that Ikki is fighting againt (don't remember the knight's name)this guy cuts ikki's head off and then Ikki's body lift the head all bloody and the head open it's mouth and let this power come out of it & defeats the knight... when I so that in my country I had an smiling expresion of gggrrrooossss!!! and cool at the same time because at the end was only an illusion created by Ikki..( I don't think that american's ever going to see that part and some othersones either...) sad but true!!! if thinghs keep walking the way they are now... U S is going to get a newer music version, blue blood with a whole less content...what is better to sacrifice?

Does anyone know if there is a dvd which has the spanish(mexico) version? I have a dish and it gives the option to change the languages so I thought that maybe it would be in spanish... but it wasn't. I just saw the US version and yes it blows. As far as the intro the spanish one wasn't that great but it was a hell of a lot better than this one. I'm not sure which song the japanese one had but if it was up to me I would just keep pegasus fantasyas the intro and the end, that song kicks ass.

I like rock music, but I agree with you guys that it just doesn't match saint seiya... I loved how original music matched saint seiya's story setting about mythical world continue to live in modern world... I agree about crappy dialogues that don't make any sense... I hate DIC's choice of voices... especially seiya, making him sound like a cheap little kid and hyoga's american style "dude".

Another points no one have brought up yet... I can't stand having continuous background music. Original Japanese version had scenes with silent moments. Too much music... makes it hard to feel the tension in the scenes...
