Why do people only look for http as an anime source?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Animes : One Thread

Are those types of people just ignorant of p2p programs and other methods of obtaining anime, or are they just too lazy to learn using a program? I've only been in this board for about 2 weeks and half of the anime requests are strictly direct downloads from sites only. Do leechers understand that webmasters have to pay for bandwidth transfers each month? Trying to maintain a site with 10 GB of space and 7 GB of uploading already cost a bundle, what makes you think you can find a legitimate site of full series where you can get fast transfer of video files? Webhost services only expects the site to upload text and images to viewers, it is never meant to store and transfer files at the size of a 178 MB avi. Give up if you're insistent on only using http for anime leeching because you're just going to a dead end.

some people have said that there parents wont let them install programs on their comp too, but your right http is only good gor txt, pdf' or mp3.

those who're looking for http downloads will only have 3 choices:

1. if you're lucky: u'll find .rm files of around 50MB but the quality is like shit, sometimes can't even see the subtitles.

2. go and buy the dvd/vcds or just watch tv

3. learn to use p2p programs. other people are running the risk of getting tracked or attacked by virus in order to dl the files off p2p programs and you are expecting to just benefit from our trouble? no way!

I can't upload things because of something with my internet company. So I can't use things like bittorrent which you have to upload. Kazaalite is fine tho because you can turn on the no sharing option

there is no such thing as not being able to upload bcos of ISPs. if you can't upload, doesn't it mean you can't send any kind of file to your friends since this require "uploading"??? sounds more like the problem is on your side, eg firewall?

some people can only use HTTP because some p2p programs are blocked. I am using a LAN, and Kazaa has been blocked. Luckily, I can use the IRC, but some people can't even do that.

you can use kazaa on windows 95, I should know, I use to have it

Personally, I would love to have a good http site to download from right about now since my school has all the P2P ports blocked.

Why the hell do I want to learn another language to watch European dubs? If I wanted to I'd rather learn Japanese so I can watch the raw instead.
