The Japanese version would be the "feminine heroism". But the dub that DIC did would be "silly show that only appeals to little kids and perverts"

the english version is crap, though when I was younger i saw up to season 4 in english (now i've seen most if it subbed, including the last season)... at the time, i thought it was a great show, i loved it, i don't think it has much of anything to do with perverts O_o you can see tons of shows like that, sailor moon isn't like that... unless you choose to view it like that, that's not what is goal is, anyway...

Or how about just an overrated, over-exposed mediocre anime?

I agree with "SinisterKnuckle" In Japan it was feminine heroism, I mean heck, it was originally published in a Shoujo manga magazine, how could it not be?(I read some of the manga. Much better plot.) But in America it's for little kids in general, though not for perverts. How can it be for perverts it they made those two cousins? As for being for kids in general, it's not the only time they did that. Look at CardCaptor Sakura. In America they edited the hell out of it to make it look like it was full of action so it would appeal to boys as well. Not to mention editing out all Japanese culture and Sakura's emotions while they were at it.

As far as anime Television goes, in general, sex sells. Be it in the form of animation, or that of a classical Opera. No matter where you look, sex is in our minds. It is self evident within every single speck of this mayhem americans call media. It would only seem natural that having beautiful, shapely, curvey, young school girls running around in sailor outfits would be a way of inducing a sexy atmosphere within an otherwise mediocre anime. IT SELLS!! Thats why it's there! If the Senshi were obese would you honestly still watch it? NO!! It's sad but true; The world only wants to see beautiful things. NO ONE remembers Sailormoon because they fought the forces of evil, They remember beautiful attractive little school girls in skimpily clad outfits fighting the forces of evil. With that being said, I, Jexter Rapanan, would then conclude that Sailormoon is both a Pervert's wet dream, childrens feminine heroes, and a good way to get people, Perverts and children alike, to watch yer damn shit.[HI MOM!!]

ps. I thought Jupiter, Mars and Venus were the sexiest @_o

Well jexter and anyone who would ever judge sailor moon as a perverts "wet dream" is definetly smoking something. i mean yeah, sailor moon has its sexual parts, but pervs shouldnt be drooling over sailor moon, them losers should keep hentai to watch. Sailor moon is mi FAVORITE SHOW and i would definetly say the sailor senshi are a example of feminine heroism. it could be considered for little kids but probley only the 1st and 2nd season.

When I was little, about 11 or 12 I use to watch Sailor Moon in the dubbed version [my BIG mistake]. But when I grew up to 15 or 16 I fully realized that after watching the Sailor Moon R movie in Japanese was far different from the English version. I was very pissed off that DIC made one of my favorite Anime into some kind of kiddy show, so I went for, and still am into subbed titled versions ONLY.
