Best Church (congregational) website around

greenspun.com : LUSENET : A.M.E. Today Discussion : One Thread

Someone once said "he who toots not his own horn will find his horn may not get tooted."

Well, I don't think I've "tooted the horn" about our congregation's new website. It was created as part of a project for a class by one of our members and it is among the finest church websites around.

It contains some church history, photos, almost all of the weekly bulletin and just added is our quarterly newsletter, "At the Corner" [so named 'cause our church is at a corner] and the weekly sermon in audio form.

Just an example of how it is being used...we send copies of the bulletin to sick and shutins as well as others who request it. One member, serving in the military in Ubekistan (sp), but when he found out he could read the bulletin "on line", he said we did not need to send it to him -- which took 2 -3 weeks anyhow. Now he can read it weekly (it's updated on Friday or Saturday with the sermon added by Wednesday following it's delivery).

The URL is www.StPaulColumbus.aol -- but I don't think it is case sensitive.
