Bittorrent version 3.3 : slower than 3.2?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Animes : One Thread

Is it just me or does other people notice that the newest version of bittorrent actually downloads slower than 3.2 does? I experimented with both versions and found that 3.2 downloads faster. What do you think?

Well it depends. If you used both at the same time on the same file and you see a difference then yes 3.2 is faster (Not just 5 or 10Kb/s)

well i noticed it was slower... i still thinkl that the exerimental version is the best, faster and informs you how many seed and peers you are connected to

maybe it's still new and few pp are using it. and i heard that the latest version works on a "rarest first" basis, meaning it'll try to dl the patch that the least peers have in case the seeders leave and none of the peers have the complete file. so maybe that's why sometimes your connection is slow bcos your BT is downloading a patch which only 1 seed has and so your speed will depend on the upload speed of that seed. on that basis, the more you've downloaded, the speed should eventually increase when you reach the 'popular' patches. that's just my guess, but i agree that the experimental client is really good, esp if you have assymetrical connection.
