Rev. Ron Norad....transitoned from the Church Militant to the Church Triumphant!

Servant of God...Well Done! It grieves me to announce the passing of Rev. Ron Norad, the pastor of Bethel AME Church in Ensley, Alabama. Ensley is a part of Birmingham. Rev. Norad leaves to cherish his memory his wife and children. Ron was a visionary and his vision transformed a once blighted community into a place of hope. Ron was able to develop a viable CDC which benefited the entire community. Pray much for his family. Rest on my brother...take your reward!

As a licentiate under Rev. Nored. I can truly say the AME church has lost a true leader and hero. I will get ordained in two weeks and I will truly miss Rev. Nored. He was a great author and role model. If you have not read his books, you are missing the story of a man who not only had the vision to clean up a blighted area of the inner- city, but also the plan and more importantly the persistence to make it work. What he accomplished is only outshined by the fact that he was a child of God. He was a friend.

In a world and church where greatness is a rare comodity, Rev. Norad stood tall and made a lasting impact that will benefit many lives for years to come. He will be greatly missed. Our prayers are with the family.

Rev. David W. Swarn, Pastor Bethel A.M.E. Church Michigan City, Indiana
