I've been watching anime for awhile.... but can you tell me what oav is and wuts the difference between oav and normal anime is? it's prolly a newb question but i was just wondering ^_^

oav or ova (original animation video, or original video animation) are shows dat never make it on television. they are more explicit, meaning it sumtimes has stronger violence or nudity or language. plus they come out on dvds. ^^

An OVA is usually an anime that follows the anime either before or after. It usually takes a more serious mood and the drawings will be much more detailed too.

OVAs usually come out when an anime series in not that well known and/or when people are sick of it. Which is why most are rare to find.

Also, OVAs generally don't follow along with the mainstream storyline of the anime, although there are several exceptions to that rule...
